Arts & Humanities Volunteer Opportunities

 

ASSISTANT TEACHER

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Arts and Humanities Coordinator. The assistant will help the Lead Instructor with one of the following type classes: Art, Spanish, Dance, Reading. Specific class will be based on individual qualification and interest. Additional responsibilities include:

> Assistant Teacher understands and incorporates Character Development and the YMCA mission in classes
> Personally exhibits a commitment to the mission of the YMCA
> Incorporate Character Development and YMCA mission in classroom

Qualifications

> Some knowledge of subject matter
> Strong communication and organizational skills
> Comfortable working with children and parents
> Must believe in and promote the mission of the YMCA.

Commitment

All regular volunteers must attend a mandatory volunteer orientation and any necessary trainings. Assistant teachers must commit to regularly serving 1-2 hours weekly for the duration of an eight-week session.

LEAD TEACHER

Responsibilities
